Nasim Aghili

Nasim Aghili is a director and writer. Her theatre installations, sound pieces and participatory performances deal with the experience of existing in different forms of exile, creating grievability and healing rituals.  She works with performing and visual arts together with Björn Karlsson in the duo aghili/karlsson and she is also a member of the queer, feminist and post-colonial art group Ful – the collective behind anti-nationalistic cabaret Europa Europa in collaboration with the pop duo the Knife. Europa Europa deals with the inhumane migration policies that Europe uses to exclude people in need through an artistic focus on the migrants’ perspective, experience and strenghts.  Her piece Vahák, is a walk through a sound installation, a huge pink tent and poetic decolonising activism in different sami languages. Her work have been translated to different languages and performed in countries like Mexico, US, Holland, Estonia, Belgium, Sápmi and Germany and in festivals and biennials like the 2016 Performing Arts Biennal for Children and Youth. Europa Europa is featured in the main exhibition at the new Performing Arts Museum in Stockholm.
